Tragedies
July 4, 2008Star-crossed
They met by chance
Some three decades ago:
A girl and a seafarer,
Young as their dreams,
And they quickly fell
In love, on a ship.
In the storm’s eye
Fate laid its hand on them:
No longer young, but still
In love, yet the waters
Quickly embraced them
To death, in a ship.
Death steals away joy, until
There is nothing left but love:
Swimming from the depths,
Towards the quivering light.
